Outfit: Hypnotized

Temperatures haven't fully plummeted yet (it was a crazzyy mid-60s today), but they've gotten just cold enough for me to justify pulling my black faux fur coat off of my bed (I've been using it as a blanket, haa). I got it three sizes too big for maximum cuddliness. The only negative is when random people ask me if it's real...ugh, gross. Anywayy, wore it with knee high socks, and a crimson velvet bodysuit.

Outfits: Where the Wild Things Are

There is NO end in sight to my obsession with faux furs and velvets, haha. I tend to think that pairing furs with equally over the top items is the only way to go. For example...my incredibly soft, midnight blue, furry cardigan with my muchhh neglected disco pants, and then my newly purchased RIDICULOUS fur dress (really?! really.) with my wonderful spice girl platforms, haa.
ANYWAY, hope you all had relaxxinggg Sundays! Despite the crappy weather I had a great day volunteering at a celiac support group for little kiddies (actually NOT being sarcastic...haha).
P.S. What's everyone being for Halloween?! I want to be a WILD THING from the movie, hehe.

Outfit: Turn and Turn Again

This is an outfit I took a picture of awhile ago and never got around to posting. Fall has me newly obsessed with velvets and (faux) furs...basically any soft-textured fabric that just makes you want to rub up against it, haa. I paired this drapey, olive, velvet skirt with a loose, cream mesh top. Sorry for the lack of posting...work is absolutely tiring, plus the night classes I've taken on to further boost up my med school resume (all my pre-med reqs are done, but the hospital I work for pays for the classes and some extra sciences couldn't hurt, right?). So basicalllyyy...when I have any free time I pretty much just want to sink into a pumpkin spice bubble bath (philosophy's 3-in-1's are AH-mazing!). I will try to post as often as I can though...THANKS so much to everyone who stops by and reads/comments! Totally makes my day. :D

Outfits: Dress-up

These shoes are RIDICULOUS. I've been playing around with them ever since I gleefully slipped them on yesterday evening. I'm tempted to go crazy with colors, prints, and accessories but don't want to look like Scary Spice, you know what I mean? Anyway, I can't wait for the weekend so I can actually test these babies out, hehe.

Outfit, Make-up : Embrace the Martian

Wore this during the lazzyy Monday off! I found the rope-detailing on the shoulders of the silver dress (worn as top) to be less band-leader and more futuristic (think: fashionable Star Trek crew member, ha). Anyway, I finished it off with a shiny maroon skirt, minimal...yet funky jewelry, and my beloved zebra-print Manolos. I also went for a softly rounded, dark purple, smokey eye. I discovered blending a light, iridescent lavendar color around the edges creates an interesting "glowy" effect (adding to the extra-terrestrial feel I was going for, haa). Hope you all are having wonderful starts to the work week! Tomorrow's already HUMP day! :)

Inspiration: Extreme Couture

I'm not sure what the concept behind this shoot was (alien queen of the empty pool, perhaps?), but nevertheless I couldn't help but post it. Note to self: bling out the cane I got from my college when I graduated and carry it while wearing a leather bodysuit, greased up skin, and intense accessories, haa.
Now I'm going to watch an episode of Project Runway Australia Season 2...not caught up on all of the episodes yet but I'm considerably more impressed by these designers than the ones in Project Runway USA Season 6 (my reality tv knowledge is getting ridiculously lame, haha).

Outfits: Hypnotize

September already?!? I can't say that I'm ready for Fall's imminent arrival given the incredibly weak Summer weather we had here in Boston. But I did purchase a coat yesterday while shopping and I am definitelllyyy excited to snuggle up in it with sky-scraping boots when the temperatures drop. I've also developed a Fall-inspired desire to perfect a softened, day-time, vampiresque look with my make-up utilizing deep burgundies and wine red eye shadows.
Anywayy, I wore the above outfit earlier today to go grocery shopping...and plan on wearing the below outfit later tonight for appetizers and drinks on the waterfront as a post-MCAT celebration for one of the girls I work with! Although knowing me, I'll pull a full 180 wardrobe change right before leaving and end up being an hour late...per usual. The sequined top is actually a crazy sequined tube dress that I've been trying to figure out how to wear without lookin' like a hottt mess (which admittedly isn't always a bad thing, ha). Hope you're all enjoying the THREE-day weekend!!! :D

Outfits: Work

WOWW, reaching an all-time low in blogging productivity! Many apologies, I've been spending time enjoying the wonderful summer heat with the boy who is in Boston for one more week...and of course working harrrdd. Feels strange to have summer coming to an end and instead of returning to beer pong and shitty mixed drinks in dorm rooms I'm still going to be workin' the 8:30 to 5 and wasting my money on $9 cocktails, haa.
Fashion-wise I've been in a bit of a rut due to the heat. I've been craving loosely, draped dresses and exposed, lacey lingerie but have absolutely NO drapey pieces in the wardrobe. Also, The zebra print booties pictured in the outfit below are being returned since I purchased the much more amazing ashish for topshop zebra-print wedge boots yesterday morning, CAN'T WAIT CAN'T WAIT!
Thank you ALL for stopping by, I SOOOO appreciate everyone who continues to read and comment!! :D

Make-up, Video : Simple Cat-eyed Look

Thanks to the ladies who have been commenting on my eye make-up! For most of my smokey looks it's pretty simple (any dark shadow plus lots of blending!) but for my attempt to create a dramatic "cat-eye" with this outfit I decided to film a quick (crappy) tutorial for it, haa. Alsooo, for those who were asking about what I use to get my skin to "glow"...I use MAC's Mineralize Satinfinish with SPF 15 which is supposed to give that natural, dewey appearance. However, I recently switched to a more matte foundation and I'm pretty sure that my skin is just naturally "dewey" (aka shiny...especially during summer humidity, yuck).

Outfits: She Wolf

Okay, I may or may not have been weirdly entranced by Shakira's new bizarrely sexy music video...and have thus been obsessed with looking like some sort of predatorial animal for the past few days. Over the weekend I pranced out in a fringed top (worn as a skirt), some serious sandals, with cat-eyed make-up and gotten some looks (pictured below). And then proceeded to go grocery shopping yesterday evening in leopard-print jeans, and a floral gold jacket, with a somewhat teased mane of hair. I expect the boy to be super pumped about my new "she wolf/cat woman" obsession when he arrives on Monday! ;)
